Abstract :Principal component analysis insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PCA); is important for describing the body conformation in livestock. Total of seven body measurements and thirteen body indices parameters from 144 heads of Pasundan cow insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(average 3 years age); at West Java Province of Indonesia were used in this study for PCA analysis. The body measurements in this study consisted of withers height insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(WH);, body length insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(BL);, chest girth insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CG);, chest width insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CW);, rump height insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(RH);, rump width insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(RW); and rump length insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(RL);. Therefore the body indices in this study consisted of height slope insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(HS);, width slope insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(WS);, body index insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(BI);, area index insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(AI);, rump length index insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(RLI);, conformation index insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CI);, length index insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(LI);, body ratio insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(BR);, proportionality insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Pr);, thoracic development insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(TD);, pelvic index insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PI);, transverse pelvic insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(TP); and longitudinal pelvic insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(LP);. The highest of Pearson’s coefficient of correlations insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(r); value in body measurements was showed between WH and RH insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(0.93);. Hence, the highest r value in body indices was showed between WS and TP insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(0.86);. The PCA for body measurements and body measurements was revealed two factors of PC1 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(WH, BL, RH); and PC2 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CG, CW, RW, RL); that explained about 73.36% of the total variation. Meanwhile, the PCA for body indices was revealed four factors of PC1 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(BI, AI, RLI, LI, Pr, LP);, PC2 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CI, TD);, PC3 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(WS, PI, TP); and PC4 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(HS, BR); that explained about 89.38% of the total variation. It was concluded that the seven body measurements is important for describing body conformation of Pasundan cows such as body size insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PC1); and body shape insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PC2);.Keywords : Body measurements, Body indices, Body conformation, Pasundan cows, PCA
