Abstract :Melanosis Coli is a rare and unusual appearance of the colon with dark brown pigmentation in a snakeskin-like pattern. Owing to its rarity and different view, it cannot be distinguished from ischemic colitis, especially in acute settings. Unfortunately, some patients are diagnosed after colectomy. The malignant potential of the disease remains controversial. In this article, we discuss a patient who was found to have melanosis coli and then briefly examine the relevant medical literature.
