Abstract :This paper presents the design and performance analysis of a meta-heuristic search technique insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Gravitational-Search-algorithm); to optimal tuning of Proportional-Integral-Derivative plus Filter insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PIDF); controller for automatic generation control. The designed algorithm is applied in multi-source interconnected power system. The system under investigation is equipped with PIDF-controllers which are widely used in literature considering for the analysis and design purpose. Excellency of the proposed approach is shown with comparison of differential evolution and particle swarm optimization algorithm. The dynamic response has been studied under variety of operating-conditions. The simulation results represent that the tuned PIDF-controllers by gravitational search algorithm supply the better damping of oscillations in power system.Keywords : Automatic Generation Control, Gravitational Search algorithm, Proportional
