Abstract :Throughout Babylonian history, usury-high interest rates for which the borrower could give his wife and children, even himself for guarantee of debt; brutal practices of leaders (such as Nimrod ordering all born baby boys be killed for his own benefit) were some of the consequences of the order represented by “mother goddess/mother nature” ruled over social and economic lives in Ancient Babylon. Ancient Babylonian paganism is a product of Naturalist philosophy that considers no reason to limit the individual to maximize self-interest, in the matter of lending money at interest as well. However, from the religion of Prophet Jesus: “Covetousness is identical as idolatry”. From the Collection of Risale-i Nur: “You suffer hardship so that I can live in ease; you work so that I can eat” is the usury’s (riba) meaning, destroying the public order; and the principle for the individual of the philosophy which attributes effects to causes is “to claim godhead” and it assumes nature having the power to create. Keywords : Babil, Tabiat, İktisadî Doktrin, İncil, Risale i Nur
