Abstract :I first met Robert Creeley in 2004 on a hot October Indian summer afternoon. Walking through Brown University’s elegant campus, heading to Creeley’s office, I experienced a bizarre feeling of both fear and excitement. I was about to meet the “subject” of my doctoral dissertation. Someone who, up to that moment, had only been a picture in a book and a voice recorded on a file, downloaded from the Internet.
