Abstract :Anahtar sözcükler: Erişkin Sağlıklı 5, erişkin periodontitisli 7 toplam 12 dişin periodontitis. Periodontal membrane, Elastik iplik. periodontal membranındaki elastik iplikler HVT ve EM`da incelendi. Dişler çekildikten sonra kök üzerindeki periodontal membran bisturi ile soyuldu ve buradan alınan parçalar IM için rutin işlemlere tabi tutularak resorcin fuchsin ve el ástica-van Gieson ile boyand ı. EM İçin osmium tet-roksitte fıksc edildikten sonra uranil asetat ve kurşun sitrat uygulandı. IM`da sağlıklı örneklerde elastik iplikler tek tek iplikler halinde görülürken periodontitisli örneklerde daha çok demetler ve yumaklar halinde görüldü. EM`da elastik iplikler sağlam örneklerde ortalama 90 A°`lik mikro ñbrillerin örülmeler yaptığı demetler olarak saptandı. Periodontitisli örneklerde ise bazı demetlerde mikro ñbriller se çilebilmekteydi. Demetlerin çoğu ise mikrofibriler yapıyı kısmen kaybederek amorf homojen bir görünüm almışlardı ve kıvrılmalar yapmışlardı. Bazı yerlerde de yalnızca amorf kütleler görülüyordu. Sonuç olarak erişkin periodontitisli dişlerin periodontal membranında elastik ipliklerde morfolojik değişiklikler saptandı.   Key words: Adult periodontitis. Periodontal membrane, Elastic fiber. The elastic fibers 12 teethfrom 5 healthy and 7 adult periodontitis patients were examined with LM and EM. Folowing the extraction, the periodontal membrane on the root surface was taken by using a scalpel and then the elástica van Gieson were applied to the samples for LM. For EM, after the fixation with osmium tetroxide, uranile acetate and lead citrate were applied to the same samples. In LM, in the healthy samples, the elastic fibers were separetly located, while in the periodontitis samples they were as bundles and in accumulative appereance. In EM, the elastic fibers in healthy samples were in bundles made of microfibrils of approximately A` in diameter. In periodontitis samples, there were detectable microfibrils in some bundles. Most of the bundles partly lost their microfihrilous structure and had a amorf homogeneous and curved appearence. There were only amorf accumulation areas in some places. As a result morphological changes were seen in the elastic Jibers of the teeth from adult periodontitis patients.
