Abstract :ÖZET Bu araştırma periodontal sorunu olmıyan sağlıklı, yaşları 21-40 arasında değişen 20 hasta üzerinde yapıldı. Köprü çapası olan 40 kuronun kenarları dişeti cebi içinde bitirildi. Protetik tedaviye başlamadan önce ve simante ettikten sonra ultrasonik apareyle ağız temizliği yapıldı. Hastalar, oral hijyen tembihi yapılarak 1 yıl sonra tekrar davet edildiler. Bir yıl sonra gelişlerinde deney ve kontrol dişlerinin dişetlerine Gl. PI, SBI ve Cep Derinliği indeksi uygulandı ve istatistiksel olarak değerlendirildiler. Deney ve kontrol grubunda bulunan ortalama değerler şunlardır : Deney    Kontrol Gl 1,49    1,23 Pl - 1.46      1,17 SBI 1,52   0,83 Cep der. 1,43mm  1,21 mm P < 0,001 Bu verilere göre kuronlu dişlerin dişetlerinde hafif de olsa iltihabi bir durum saptanmıştır. S U M M A R Y This investigation was made on twenty healthy patients with no periodontal disease, whose ages ranged between 21-40 years. Forty crown edges used as retainer were finished subgingivally. Before starting prosthetic treatment and after cementing the mouth was cleaned by ultra-sonic apparatus. The patients were given oral hygine stimulation and were instructed to revisit a year later. Upon their visit a year later Gl, PI, SBI and pocket dept indices were applied on the gingival of the subjects and controls and were assessed istatistically. Average values obtained from the subjects and those in the control group are as follows: Subject       control Gl 1,49       1,23 PI 1,46       1,17 SBI 1,52      0,83 Pocket dep. 1,43mm 1,21mm P < 0,001 According to these data, some kind of an infectious condition has been detected in the gingivae of the teeth with crowns.
