Abstract :Anahtar kelimeler: Kronolojik yaş, diş yaşı, kemik yaşı Bu çalışmada ortodonik düzensizlik gösteren ve göstermeyen bireylerde kemik olgunluğunu ve dişlerin gelişimini teker teker ele alarak diş yaşı, kemik yaşı ve kronolojik yaş arası ilişkileri araştırarak ortodontik tanıya yardımcı olmak amaçlandı. Araştırma 50 kız ve 50 erkek olmak üzere toplam 100 olgu üzerinde ve 3 farklı radyolojik inceleme yapılarak gerçekleştirildi. Bireyin iskelet ve diş gelişimine etkili birçok genci ve yerel faktörün olması nedeniyle; gelişim derecesini saptamada kronolojik, kemik ve diş yaşlarının yalnız başlarına yeterli olmadığı gözlendi. Ortodontik tanı ve tedavi planlamasında, birey gelişimlerinin hangi dönemlerinde olduklarının bilinmesinin önemi, bu çalışma ile bir kez daha vurgulandı. In this study, the bone maturity and tooth development of individiuals with or without orthodontic irregulariti es, have been examined to compare the tooth, bone and chronological ages for assisting the orthodontic diagnosis. The study has been established in a group of 100 cases, equally distributed between sexes, by 3 different radiological examinations. Since many factors affect the skeleton and tooth development of the individual; bone, tooth and chronological ages were not found to be adequate criteria by themselves. Thus the importance of determining the stage of development in orthodontial diagnosis and treatment has been accentuated once more.
