Abstract :ÖZET “Bidâ‘atü’l-Mücevvid fi’l-Hat ve Usûlih” isimli bu manzûm ürcûze, Muhammed es-Sincârî’nin bir eseridir. Burada İ bn Hilâl, Yâkût ve es-Sincârî’nin hüsn-i hat sanatıyla ilgili görü ş leri bulunmaktadır. Bu eser, 135 beyittir. İki bölüm olarak tertip edilmi ş tir. Birinci kısımda kitâbetin ş artlarından ve bazı yazı âletlerinden; ikinci bölümde ise, müfred (tekil), mürekkeb (biti s ik) ve müvelled (türemi ş ) harflerin ölçülerinden, ş ekillerinden, oranlarından, ke s îdesinden, satır düzgünlü ğ ünden, benzetmelerden ve ayrıca i s bâ‘(doyurma), irsâl (salıverme), itmâm (tamamlama), takvîs (kavis verme), tastîh (yatay yazma), inkibâb (e g im verme) ve tafsîl (ayrıntıları verme) gibi özelliklerinden bahsedilmi ş tir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Kalem, Kalemtıra ş , Mürekkep, Kâ ğ ıt, İtmâm, Takvîs, İrsâl.   ABSTRACT   “Bid a ‘at al-Mujawwid fi’l-Khat wa Usûlih” is a work in verse by Muhammad as-Sinj a r i which contains annotations and commentaries by Ibn Hil a l, Y a q u t and as- Sinj a r i on the art of Islamic calligraphy. This work is composed of 135 couplets and divided into two chapters. The first chapter is concerned with the essentials of the art and the means and tools used by calligraphers. The second chapter deals with the methods and techniques employed in composing text hands in different modes and styles with a peculiar terminology used to describe the sizes, forms and proportions of separate, contiguous and derived letters. Among the characteristics of this art which require utmost dexterity are lengthened tails of letters, terminated and curved figures (patterns), eyes of the circular or oval forms filled in, In addition, the smoothness of lines, composition of text hands in oblique lines and ornamentation of the text with details are included.
