Abstract :In this article, I first describe the situation in Afghanistan and the factors responsible for its current condition. I next address the role that the regional powers are playing in Afghanistan. Subsequently, I analyse the role of the broader international community. I conclude by analysing how the situation in Afghanistan might evolve and how the international community should respond.
