Abstract :İdris Küçükömer'in modernleşme, Batılılaşma, Türk modernleşmesi, demokrasi ve sivil toplum konularındaki düşüncelerini ele alan bu çalışmada, Küçükömer'i özgün kılan hususlar ortaya koyulmaktadır. İdris Küçükömer, Batı’nın günümüz siyasi yapısının oluşmasında feodal kurumlar ve burjuva sınıfının arasında yaşanan mücadelenin etkin olduğunu ve ortaya çıkan bütün siyasi, hukuki ve iktisadi gelişme ve düzenlemelerde bu mücadelenin izlerinin bulunduğunu ifade ediyor. Hâlbuki bizde bu yapıların mevcut olmadığını ve Batı’daki mücadelelerin yaşanmadığını bu sebeple yapacağımız Batılılaşma hamlelerimizin köksüz olduğunu ısrarla vurguluyor. İdris Küçükömer, Batılılaşma’nın bizde sadece taklit düzeyinde kalmasının, yapılan aktarımların toplumda karşılığının olup olmadığının değerlendirilmemesinin günümüze kadar devam eden siyasi anlayışımızdaki kırılmalara yol açtığını belirtmiştir. Türkiye'de sivil toplum meselesini ilk defa gündeme getirerek sivil tolumun Türkiye’de de inşa edilmesi gerektiğini vurgulamıştır. İdris Küçükömer, toplumsal meselelere ilişkin birçok konuda hâkim anlayışı sarsacak nitelikte düşünceler ileri sürmüştür. Bütün bir ömrünü ontolojik ve epistemolojik arayışla geçiren, bu arayışı boyunca en acımasız soruları kendisine ve kendi toplumuna soran Küçükömer, ne olduğunu/olduğumuzu anlayabilmek ve sonrasında da ne olması/olmamız gerektiğini ortaya koyabilmek için yoğun bir mücadele vermiştir. Anahtar Kelimler: İdris Küçükömer, Batılılaşma, Sivil Toplum Abstract: This study which addresses the thoughts of Idris Kucukomer on modernization, Westernization, Turkish modernization, democracy and civil society issues manifests the philosophy of Kucukomer which makes him unique. Idris Kucukomer asserts that the struggle between feudal organizations and the bourgeois classes as well as the traces of this struggle on all the generated political, legal and economic developments and orders have had an influence on the current political structure of the West. However, he emphasizes with persistence that we do not have these structures and the struggle experienced in the West has not taken place and therefore any Westernization steps are without foundation. Idris Kucukomer indicates that in Turkey, Westernization has remained merely on a level of affectation and the fact that no assessment has been made as to whether the transpositions have an equivalent in society has lead to the fracturing in our political understanding which continues to date. Idris Kucukomer pioneered putting the civil society issue on the agenda in Turkey and emphasized the necessity to establish a civil society. The ideas asserted by Idris Kucukomer regarding social issues have the capacity to discredit dominant views in numerous subjects. Kucukomer who spent his whole life in an ontological and epistemological search and challenged himself and his own society with the most brutal questions during this search displayed a profound struggle to understand what is/what we are and subsequently to manifest what should be/what we should be.
