Variations of Fatty Acid Composition According to Some Morphological and Physiological Properties and Ecological Regions in Oilseed Plants

Abstract :Fatty acid composition of 14 different vegetable oils obtained from sunflower insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Helianthus annuus L.);, safflower insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Carthamus tinctorius L.);, soybean insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Glycine max insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(L.); Merr.);, corn insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Zea mays L.);, peanut insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Arachis hypogaea L.);, sesame insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Sesamum indicum L.);, cotton insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Gossypium hirsitum L.);, rape insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Brassica napus L.);, poppy insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Papaver somniferum L.);, tabacco insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Nicotiana tabacum L.);, cephalaria insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Cephelaria syriaca L.);, flax insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Linum usitatissimum L.); and camalia insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Camalina sativa L.); seeds and olive insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Olea europea L.); were compared in this study. The position effects in safflower, different seed colours in sesame and poppy, seed development stages in rape and different ecological local varieties in sesame were investigated in order to determine the variations of fatty acids according to some morphological and physiological properties and ecological regions. The results indicated that there were characteristic differences among the oilseed plants for their fatty acid compositon.
