Abstract :In this paper, a new hybrid pulse width modulation technique is proposed to enhance the performance of output voltage from a ternary progression based multilevel inverter. For high power applications, the multilevel inverter can appropriately replace the traditional converter without a transformer and the separate DC sources will be indispensable for various renewable energy sources. The classy split switching technique for the multicarrier pulse width modulation technique is adopted and the concept about new topology is presented in this paper. An arm controller has been chosen to implement the modulation due to its superior features, easy software, and hardware design. Simulation and experimental results are also presented. Keywords : Classy split modulation technique, unequal DC source, total harmonic distortion THD, , ternary voltage progression, arm controller
