Abstract :This study aims to investigate the historical process of Çelik Gülersoy Foundation Istanbul Library, which is a library specializes in Istanbul. For this purpose, the formation process of the library will be examined under these main topics: The development phase, the establishment phase and Çelik Gülersoy’s vision for Istanbul Library. Çelik Gülersoy Foundation Istanbul Library has a unique structure in that it consists of many books were written by Gülersoy and his personal collection that he gathered throughout his life and is located in a building that restored according to his vision. In the literature review that conducted, no study was found in the field of Information and Records Management regarding the Çelik Gülersoy Foundation Istanbul Library. The materials used in the study consists of printed sources such as newspaper and magazine articles, books, encyclopedias, travel notes about Istanbul Library, in addition to the information obtained from one-on-one interviews that conducted with former and current library employees. Among the printed sources examined are newspaper and magazine articles, books and travel notes written by Çelik Gülersoy. The methodology used in the study consists of document analysis and one-on-one interview methods. According to the evaluations results, it has been determined that the information obtained from printed sources and one-on-one interviews are mutually supportive, compatible and provide integrity.
