Abstract :The latest research in front of the stage building of the theater at Kaunos Fig. 1 has shown that the structure sets a unique example among ancient theaters Fig. 2 ff. . The remains belong to five consecutive phases spanning a time range from the Classical to the Late Roman periods and may be categorized in four groups.
