Abstract :The aim of this study is to determine the differences of 8th grade students and science teachers in terms of various aspects the High School Transition System (LGS).This research was conducted on 600 students and 50 science teachers in schools with similar characteristics in Eastern Anatolia. The \"High School Transition Examination System Evaluation Scale\" used by Şad and Şahiner (2016) was used as a data collection tool in the study. As a result of the study, it was determined that there was a significant difference between some items in the High School Transition Examination System Student Assessment Scale and the students \'gender, age, parents\' education status and the student\'s enrollment status, and there was no significant difference between some items and these variables. It was determined that there is a significant difference between some items in the High School Transition Examination System Teacher Evaluation Scale and the gender and professional experiences of science teachers, and there is no significant difference between these variables and some items. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the High School Entrance Examination (LGS) was met positively by the participants as \"The duration of the exam is sufficient, the exam is held in more than one session during the year, the questions asked in the exam have a good representation ability\". On the other hand, it was determined that the LGS exam was seen negatively by the participants as \"the decrease in the motivation of the students, the anxiety, depression, fear of the envisaged system, the inability to fully inform the individuals about the system, the use of the grades taken from the institution in the transition to high school\".Keywords : High school transition exam LGS, Science teachers, 8 grade students
