Abstract :Özet Bu araştırmada Sosyal Bilgiler 7 ders kitaplarında yer alan Osmanlı Kültür ve Uygarlığı ünitesi incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Ülkemizde ders kitabı, öğretmen ve yazı tahtası ile birlikte, verilen tüm bilginin % 99 unu İleten bir araçtır. Dolayısıyla öğrencinin yaş ve zeka seviyesine, ilgi, yetenek ve yaşantılarına uygun olmayan, görsel malzemelerle desteklenmeyen bir ders kitabı düşünülemez. Bu ilkeler çerçevesinde hazırlanan bir ders kitabı, kalıcı izli öğrenmelere daha fazla imkan sağlayabilir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Ders kitabı, eğitim, kültür, uygarlık, sosyal bilgiler.   Abstract In this research, the unit of Otoman Culture and Civilization in social sciences, second year class book, junior high school has been studied. In our country a class book as well as a teacher and a board is an instrument which gives 99 % of all information. So the class book can not be imagined which is not suitable for the student\`s age, intelligence level, interest, ability and his lifestyle and which is not supported by visual tools. A class book being prepared in accordence with these principles can be quite contributable to permanent learning. Key Words: class book, education, culture, civilization, social science, evoluation.
