Abstract :Özet Türkiye Cumhuriyeti \`nin oluşum sürecinde, diğer alanlarda olduğu gibi Tarih alanında da \`Milli\` bir bakışla yeni değerlendirmeler yapdarak, \`Türk Tarih Tezi\` geliştirilmiştir. Avrupa tarih yazıcılığının Türklere karşı yanlış ve kasıtlı yaklaşımlarına ve Türk Ulusunun Batılı emperyalist güçler tarafından esir edilmek istenmesine karşı, tepki olarak şekillenen \`Milli Tarih Anlayışı\`, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti\`nin temel felsefesini oluşturacaktır. Atatürk\`ün önderliği ve yönlendirmesi ile şekillenen bu yeni anlayış, dünden bugüne Türkiye Cumhuriyeti\`nin bütün eğitim kurumlarının her seviyesinde uygulanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmada; Türkiye \`de Cumhuriyetle birlikte oluşup şekillenen Milli Tarih anlayışı ve bu anlayışın ortaya çıkmasında etkin olan sebepler, dünyadaki benzer yaklaşımlar da göz önünde tutularak değerlendirilmiştir. Bu dönemde, Milli Tarih Anlayışının tarih öğretimine yansımaları ve bu amaçla yapılan ilk faaliyetler ele alınarak, Milli Tarih anlayışının bir uzantısı olarak şekillenen Atatürk İlkeleri ve İnkılâp Tarihi derslerinin tarih öğretimindeki yeri üzerinde durulmuştur. I930\`lu yıllardan günümüze bu derslerle ilgili olarak yapılan uygulamalar ve yaşanılan sorunlar belirtilerek, bunların çözümü yönünde öneriler ortaya konulmuş ve konunun önemi vurgulanmaya çalışılmıştır. Abstract New evolution have been made with a \`National\` perspective infield of history as well as in the other fields during the creation process of Turkish Republic, thus \`thesis of Turkish History\` has been developed. Shaped and formed as reaction to the deliberately distorted and untrue approaches of the Europen historians and historiographers toward Turks and to the fact that the western imperialist powers have a desire to capture the Turks, \`National Understanding of History\` is going to be the corner stone of the State of Turkish Republic. There has been a ceaseless effort to apply this new anderstanding, created under the leadership and guidance of Atatürk, in all the educational institutions of Turkish Republic. This study aims to evaluate the National Understanding of History, which was formed together with the Republic in Turkey, and the reasons for this understanding with a view to the similar approaches in the world. The refletions of National Understanding of History on the teaching of history and the earliest activities to this end have been hand!end. Then the place of the courses of Atatürk\`s Principles and Revolution History, which were included in the curriculum as cm extension of the National Understanding of History, in the teaching of history has been discussed. The practices which have been done as regards these courses since the 1930 s and the problems faced so far have been made to find a solution to them, also trying to place the required emphasis on the issue.
