Abstract :Тhe article mentions the difficulties of diagnosing osteoporosis, which is considered to be “a dumb, silent epidemic of civilization”. Since the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis came in fourth after the most common cardiovascular, cancer and diabetes due to the fact that it is often detected after fractures. In this regard, this article presents the results of studies on osteoporosis in the world, the CIS and Kazakhstan. In addition, this article discusses the features of the use of modern instrumental and laboratory methods оf diagnosing osteoporosis.
