Abstract :We do not know exactly about the mountains and we are not interested in the mountains. As yet, ten percent of the world population lives around the mountains; and about a half of the world’s drinking water comes from the mountains. The mountains are also very important for the world culture. In this view, on the culture of the Turks who live on the mountains generally there are effects of mountains. Lots of concepts are used in architect, fine arts, literature etc., in relation with the mountains. On the culture of Middle Anatolia, especially on the culture of Kayseri insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Kaisareia); one can see the effects of Mount Erciyes insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Argaios);. From Karacoğlan to Arif Nihat Asya many poets had written poems about this mountain. There are effects of this mountain especially on the architect of Seljuq and on the architectural works of Mimar Sinan. Generally all the mountains have similar features on the earth. So when speaking about the mountains mostly the same concepts are used; you can see this in the poems written about the Mount Erciyes. The most generally used concepts about the Erciyes are these: Whiteness and pureness; time and history; love; loftiness and grandeur.
