Abstract :Öz : Bu çalışma, IV/X. asırda yaşamış olan dil ve nahiv âlimlerinden Ebû Ali el-Fârisî ve İbn Hâleveyh arasında geçen bazı ilmî münazaralardan bahsetmektedir. Bilindiği üzere o dönemlerde âlimlere büyük önem verilmiş ve saraylarda ağırlanmışlardır. Ama bazı âlimler arasında birbirini çekememezlik baş göstermiş ve sarayda emirlerin karşısında yapılan ilmî toplantılarda aralarında tartışmalar geçmiştir. Ebû Ali el-Fârisî ve İbn Hâlevehy de bu âlimlerdendir. Bu durum her ne kadar olumsuz gibi gözükse de ilme zenginlik kazandırmıştır. Çalışmada, bahsi geçen iki âlim arasındaki tartışmalara geçmeden önce âlimlerin yaşamış olduğu asrın siyâsî, ilmî, ictimâî ve kültürel durumları ele alınmış akabinde çalışmada bahsedilen âlimlerin hayatlarına ve çalışmalarında takip etmiş oldukları metotlarına kısaca değinilmiştir. Son olarak da aralarında geçen ilmî münazaralardan bir kaçı verilmiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Ebû Ali el-Fârisî, İbn Hâleveyh, ilmî münazaralar.   Abstract : This study mentions about some scientific debates between the scholars of language and syntax, Ebu Ali el-Farisi and Ibn Haleveyh, who lived in the IV/X. century. As is known from the history, great importance was given to scholars in that century and they were hosted in the palace. However some jealousy had occurred and discussions had risen between the scholars at the scientific meetings held in the palace before the emirs. Ebu Ali el-Farisi and Ibn Haleveyh are among those scholars. Although this case may seem negative at first sight, it contributed wealth to the science. Before mentioning to these debates, first political, scientific, social and cultural conditions of the century in which the scholars lived have been mentioned then briefly the lives and the methods followed by the scholars in this study have been dealt.
