Abstract :Kurdish ethnic group is the product of thousands of years of gradual development that had evolved from tribes and the movement of Indo-European tribes to the mountain of Zagros region around forty thousand years ago. The origins of the Kurdistan region of Iraq dated back to the outcome of the 1990-1991 Gulf War. The uprising of the Shi’a people in the south and the Kurds in the north against Saddam Hussein and the harsh crackdown of the uprisings by the Iraqi security forces resulted in the establishment of insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(the Kurdistan region of Iraq); KRI. This study aims to illustrate the history of the KRI and its political perspectives since 1991. It will also examines the political parties, election and political participation.
