Abstract :The Mediterranean Sea is considered an aquatic biodiversity hotspot that hosts approximately 782 fish species and 72 of them are categorized as endemic. However, non-native species introductions that are of natural or human-mediated origin have posed a major threat to the biodiversity of the Mediterranean Sea which is showing high rates of endemism.
