Abstract :Purpose:In this study, it was aimed to determination of death anxiety in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholestectomy. Patients and Methods:This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted between August 2019 and January 2020 in the general surgery service of a private hospital with 114 patients. Descriptive characteristics form and Thorson-Powell Death Anxiety Scale were used to collect data. Statistical evaluation of the data was performed using the IBM Statistical Package for Social Sciences insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(SPSS); 24 program. The results were interpreted at a significance level of p <0.05. Results:Death anxiety scale total score and subscale mean scores were high in married and working patients and the difference between them was statistically significant insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(p <0.05);. However, the average score of those who define death as fate, death; It was found to be higher than those who described it as fearful, uncertainty, end and salvation. Conclusion:It was found that the level of death anxiety was high in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The death anxiety level of the patients; It was determined that it was affected by age, marital status and employment status.
