Abstract :Purpose: This study intends to detect the expectetions of Nursing students of Bitlis Eren University from hospital applications and also to determine the problems they face during these applications. Materials and Methods: On January 2010 a questionnaire consisting of 16 questions was prepared for students that join applications at Bitlis State Hospital to enable them specify their throughts and opinions on issues such as training, meeting the needs, patient care and treatment participations, school management, attitude of students instructors and healthcare workers towerel survey questions were applied to students. The mean age of 141 students participating to the questionnaire were calculated on the basis of class and percentage of the total. Results: The average age of students that participated to the survey was calculated as 21,31. 75,18 % of students stated that they can not work with pleasure and in peace; 92,91 % of them complained about the fact that they can not use their theoretical knowledge; 74,47 % of them stated that they can not use all clinics regarding their practical courses. 41,14 % of students reportde that the instructors were not role-models in the field of care and treatment, 39 % ould work stres-free and comfortable only when they is alone; 65,25 % stated they were blamed of maltreatment, shortcomings, mistakes and misbehaviors, 36,88 % were charged with off the duty responsibilities. Conclusion: It was detected that the students don’t participate in hospital applications voluntarily because of physical deficiencies in the hospital, lack of patient diversity, lack of applications clinics for all courses, shortcomings in relations with nurses and lack of benefit from their instructors as role models. Clinical education orientation programme and the rehabilitation studies on the subject must be put into practice urgentlyKeywords : nurse, student, practice, problem
