Abstract :A twenty-three year old male patient was admitted to our clinic with vision loss in both eyes. He had a history of experiencing an electrical shock 5 years ago and had a decrease in visual acuity over the past 5 years. On ocular examination, the patient had a best corrected visual acuity of 6/10 in his right eye and 2/10 in his left eye. Intraocular pressure was normal in both eyes. On biomicroscopic examination; bilateral anterior subcapsular and cortical lens opacities were present. Fundus examination of both eyes were normal. Based on the history and ocular examination, we made a diagnosis of electrical cataract. Cataract surgery was recommended to the patient under topical anesthesia, but the patient turned down surgery, opting instead to follow up with regular examinationsKeywords : electrical injury, cataract
