Abstract :Objectives: This study was conducted to determine perineal care applications in women between 15-49 years old and having urinary tract infection UTI . Patients and Methods: The research was a cross-sectional and descriptive study. The data of the study were collected from 199 women aged between 15-49 years who were diagnosed as ITU in the urology polyclinic of a medical faculty hospital in Central Anatolia in October-November 2013. Data were analyzed with SPSS 21.0. In the analysis of the data were used descriptive statistics. Results: The women in the study 40.2% were between 43-49 years old, 82.9% were married, 40.7% were primary school graduates, 78.4 were housewives, and 50.8% were in the middle-income bracket. 94.0% of the women used white underwear, 40.3% used combed cotton, 42.3% changed their underwear every 2-3 days, and 48.7% washed their underwear with colors in the washing machine. 72.4% of the women reported washing their hands after using the toilet, 56.5% changed hygenic pads 1-2 times a day during menstruation, and 59.8% were seated when showering. Conclusion: As a result of the research, it was concluded that women did not pay enough attention to the application of perineal care.
