Abstract :Providing a healthy workplace free of biological, chemical, physical, environmental, pyscho-social and biomechanical hazards is a key issue currently. The aims of the study are to canvas the opinions of healthcare workers about workplaces and to gather suggestions for activities to be undertaken in creating healthy workplaces. In the study, a questionnaire was given to 500 health workers working in an research and teaching hospital in Ankara, who had volunteered to participate in the study. The scale was created by the researchers of the study after conducting a detailed literature review. A validity and reliability study was conducted prior to applying the scale in the field by obtaining an expert opinion. The reliability of the scale was determined to be 0.98. The results from the study were evaluated using SPSS 21.0. According to the results of the research: The total score for opinions about a healthy working environment was found to be 123.98 ± 12.54. When opinions about a healthy working environment are examined, those opinions with the highest score are “There is a definite relationship between problems in private life and motivation at work” 4,74 ± 0,44 , “Publication of hospital announcements within the hospital information system affects the working environment for employees” 67 ± 0.47 , and “I believe that the institution I work with will be better in the future” 4.53 ± 0.50 . ‘Healthy workplaces’ training can be set up by hospital managers to create awareness about healthy workplacesKeywords : Health, healthy workplace, health workers, employee safety, violence
