Abstract :Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the perception of the privacy of women who applied to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department.Materials and Methods: Our study included 300 women who applied to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital for examination. This descriptive and cross-sectional study was performed in a gynecology polyclinic in the Black Sea region between 15.04.2018 and 15.06.2018. The data of the research were collected with a questionnaire form developed by the researchers in accordance with the literature and the Body Confidentiality Scale for Gynecology and Obstetrics.Results: When the socio-demographic characteristics of women were examined, it was determined that the average age was 29.65±8.23. The mean total score of the Body Confidentiality Scale for Gynecology and Obstetrics was 4.19±0.55. A statistically significant difference was found between the general privacy subscale of the Body Confidentiality Scale for Gynecology and Obstetrics and the gestational status of women participating in our study p=0.048 .Conclusion: It was determined that women were sensitive to privacy.
