Abstract :A growing proportion of the world’s population now lives in cities. This proportion is going to increase in the coming years. Urban congestion brings with it increasing problems. It is well known that there are global efforts to recognize the problems faced by urban dwellers and to find solutions to them. These rights, defined as urban rights, are based on human rights, and their implementer is usually the state. The concept of the right to the city (RTTC), first used by Lefebvre, examines the issue from a much broader perspective. Accordingly, RTTC is a demand for the transformation of cities. Urban dwellers are at the center of this transformation. The RTTC, which has inspired many political struggles, is comprehensively analyzed in this study, both theoretically and with some practical examples. This study aims to define the concept of the RTTC compared with urban rights, to evaluate the variables of the RTTC, and to interpret the examples of the RTTC in the world and the situation in Türkiye. The basic qualitative method used in this study. The technique used was document analysis. In this context, documents were collected, interviewed, and analyzed (Sak et al., 2021: 228). As a result, it was concluded that the RTTC requires a proactive urban dweller profile, that the RTTC can be used against the decisions taken not only by the state but also by the private sector, and that Türkiye is still at the beginning of discussions about the RTTC.Keywords : Kentli hakları, kent hakkı, Türkiye’de kent hakkı
