Abstract :Abstract Telomeres are a characteristic of chromosomes that have increasingly large significance in research. They are studied in various diseases to discover potential treatment strategies. Their most vital characteristic is their length because the length can be used to describe different characteristics about the cell, such as its age. The length of telomeres can also be used as a potential way to treat disease. This review article’s purpose is to explore how te-lomeres can be potentially used as a method to treat genetic diseases such as trisomy 21 and cancer. Keywords : Telomere, telomere shortening, telomere homeostasis, Down syndrome, Carcinoma, Hepatocellular
