Abstract :In this paper, nurses changing roles as providers of primary health care has been reviewed. Public Health Nursing teaching and curricula within the two different level of basic nursing education was evaluated and found to be satisfactory. At the conclusion, in order to produce "generalist nurses" able func - tion in primary health care services, strengthening communit y. oriented teaching in all the courses of the nursing curricula has been emphasized.
