The research group consists of 100 parents who have children in primary schools affiliated with the Primary Education Department of TRNC. In line with the perceptions of the parents, it is aimed to produce solutions for the problems experienced in schools and to take the necessary precautions. For this purpose, a semi-structured interview form was prepared to reveal the metaphorical perceptions of the parents about the concept of "problems in primary education". With the semi-structured form, the parents’ demographic characteristics were collected, and each parent was asked to complete the sentence “Problems in primary education are similar to ….. because …..” to collect research data. The findings of the study, metaphors can be used as a powerful research tool in revealing, understanding, and explaining the personal perceptions that parents have about the concept of “problems in primary education.” As a result, it was found that the perceptions of the parents participating in the study about education problems did not differ according to their demographic variables and they saw the problems in education as a complex, uncertain and inextricable situation. Keywords : Metaphor, problems in education, parents opinions
