Abstract :Arkeolojik çalışmalar sonucu ortaya çıkarılan kentsel kalıntılar geçmişteki toplumsal ilişkilerin biçimini ve bu ilişkilerin ortaya çıkardığı mekansal yapıyı anlamamıza yardımcı olmaktadır. Aynı şekilde Eski Yunan düşüncesine ait günümüze kadar gelen metinler o çağa ait düşüncenin niteliğini ortaya koymaktadır. İnsan düşüncesinin zaman içinde değişmesine bağlı olarak mekanın da taşıdığı anlamın değişmesi söz konusudur. Mekan aynı zamanda mimari, yönetimsel ve hiyerarşik bir yapılanmayı içermektedir. Dolayısıyla düşüncenin mekanda meydana getirdiği farklılıklarda önem kazanmaktadır. Kısaca düşüncenin kentsel mekana yansımasını ele alan bu çalışma, antik çağda şekillenen mekanların arkasında yatan düşünceleri ortaya koymaya çalışmaktadır. Anahtar Kelimeler : Kentsel mekan, antik çağ Abstract Urban relics found as a result of archeological studies help us to understand the form of social relations in the past and the spatial structure brought forth by these relations. Similarly, texts which belong to Archaic Greece and have remained till today draw out the characteristics of that period\`s thought. Just as human thought changes relatively to time, the meaning possessed by space also changes. Space also includes architectural, governmental and hierarchical structuring. Therefore, differences caused in space by thought acquire importance. This study, which deals with the reflection of the thought to the urban space, tries to find out the thoughts which lie under the spaces which were shaped in the antique ages.
