Abstract :Özet Bu çalışmamızda “KKTC Nüfus Coğrafyası” konu edilmiştir. Bu başlık altında, Kıbrıs adasında Türk nüfusunun tarihî gelişimi, nüfus hareketleri, nüfusun dağılışı ve yoğunluğu ile nüfusun sosyal ve ekonomik özellikleri (nüfusun sağlık, eğitim, iktisadi faaliyet türleri, cins ve yapısı) ele alınmıştır. Ulaştığımız sonuçlara göre, KKTC'nde nüfus, sürekli göç vermektedir. Nüfusun göç vermesinde, ülkenin siyasi durumu ve ekonomik ambargolar ile beşerî ve fizikî (özellikle kuraklık) faktörler etkili olmaktadır. Bu bakımdan ülke ekonomisi üzerindeki ambargolar kaldırılmaya çalışılmalı ve genç nüfusa istihdam oluşturulmalıdır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Nüfus, nüfus artışı, nüfus hareketleri, göç, nüfus yoğunluğu. Abstract The subject of this paper is “Population Geography of TRNC”. Under this title, historical development of Turkish population in Cyprus Island, population movements, distribution of population and population density as well as social and economic characteristics of the population (i.e. health, education, economic activity types, sort and structure of the population) are discussed. According to the results we have achieved, the population emigrates continuously. Such factors as the political condition of the country, economic embargos as well as humane and physical factors (particularly aridity) are influential on emigration of the population. In this regard the embargos on the national economy should be tried to be removed and young population should be provided employment.
