Abstract :The 28th International Istanbul Theater Festival, which was first organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) in 1989, was held this year between October 22 and November 19. The festival, which was previously organized with a director system, started to be organized with a curatorial approach as of 2022. The first curator of the festival, who was selected for a two-year term, was theater director Işıl Kasapoğlu. The name determined as the curator of the 28th and 29th Theater festivals was Mehmet Birkiye, one of the important theater directors of our country. Mehmet Birkiye, who is also the head of the Drama and Acting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Istanbul Aydın University, was talked about the first year of the festival, which he curated.
