Abstract :Öz Amaç: Bu çalışma, ebelik öğrencilerinin doğal doğum ve doğumda Lamaze felsefesine ilişkin bilgi ve düşüncelerini belirlemek  amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem-Gereçler: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipteki bu çalışmanın örneklemini Temmuz-Ağustos 2018 tarihleri arasında İstanbul’da iki özel üniversitenin ebelik bölümünde 3. ve 4. sınıflarda okuyan toplam 198 öğrenci arasından olasılıksız yöntemle seçilen 103 gönüllü öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Veriler, literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanan ve öğrencilerin sosyodemografik özellikleri, doğal doğum, Lamaze felsefesi hakkında bilgileri ve kadınların doğuma hazırlık eğitimlerine katılmama nedenleri hakkında görüşlerini sorgulayan bir anket formu ile yüz yüze görüşme ve online anket yoluyla toplanmıştır. Veriler frekans, ortalama ve yüzdelik dağılım kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Kurum ve etik kurul onayları alınmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 21,90 ± 1,3 olup, 4.sınıf (%74,8) ve 3.sınıf (%25,2) ebelik öğrencilerinden oluşmaktadır. Katılımcılar (%76,7) orta gelir düzeyinde ve bekar öğrencilerden  (%92,2 ) oluşmuştur. Genellikle felsefeyi duyduğunu (%75,7), ülkemizde kısmen uygulandığını (%56,3), lamaze felsefesiyle doğum korkusunun azaldığını (%79,6) ve vajinal doğumun kolaylaştığını söylemişlerdir. Öğrenciler, çalışan çiftlerin eğitimlere katılmasının zor olması (%74,8), düzenli zaman ayrılmaması (%75,8), ulaşım sorunu (%49,5) ve olumsuz hava şartlarının katılımları etkilediğini belirtmişlerdir. Doğumlarda ebelerin aktif rol almamaları (%84,5) personel (%72,8) ve malzeme kısıtlılığı (%61,2) çalışanlar arasında da Lamaze felsefesinin doğumda lüks olarak görülmesi (%67,8) gibi nedenlerle sağlık personelinin Lamaze felsefesini uygulamadığını, eğitim ve sertifikasını sadece sağlık personelinin  (%87,4) alması gerektiğini söylemişlerdir. Ders içeriklerinde Lamaze felsefesi eğitiminin olmadığı (%75,7) ve hepsinin bu eğitimi almak istedikleri görülmüştür (%100). Sonuç Çalışmaya katılan ebelik öğrencilerinin çoğunluğunun doğal doğumla ilgili görüşlerinin olumlu olduğunu, Lamaze felsefesini  duymuş olduklarını ancak çoğunun Lamaze felsefesini uygulama ve katılım çerçevesinde çeşitli engellere inandıkları belirlenmiştir. Ebelik müfredatına Lamaze felsefesine dayalı doğal doğum ders içeriklerine eklenebilir.   Anahtar Kelimeler: Ebelik, Lamaze, Doğal Doğum                 Knowledge and Opinions  of  Midwifery  Students  on  Lamaze  Philosophy  at Birth Abstrac t : This study aims to measure the knowledge level of midwifery students about natural birth, Lamaze philosophy at birth, and obstacles in the application of Lamaze philosophy. This study was cross-sectional and descriptive in the screening model. In August 2018, midwifery part of a private university was made to students after obtaining permission from the institution. In the study, no sample selection method was conducted and 120 students were volunteered from the midwifery students. The sociodemographic characteristics of the students were applied to the students. In the questionnaire, a questionnaire was used which consisted of 37 questions about socio demographic characteristics, natural birth and Lamaze philosophy, and students' opinions about the reasons why women did not participate in birth preparation trainings. The data were evaluated on the computer using the percentages of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows 16.0. Methods : The mean age of the students was 21,95 ± 1,1, and 4th grade (%74,8%) and 3rd grade (%25,2) midwifery students. The majority of the participants (%76.7%) were in the middle income level and the majority were single students (92.2%).When the knowledge of Lamaze philosophy was questioned to midwifery students, it was found that the majority heard the philosophy (75,7%) and believed to be partially implemented in our country (56.3%).It was observed that the fear of childbirth decreased with lamaze philosophy (78.6%) and that vaginal birth becoming easier (%79). When the students were asked why women did not participate in the pedigree preparation trainings with lamaze philosophy, it was found that the participation of the working couples was difficult (74.8%) and that there were no regular reasons for the trainings (%75.8%) and the reasons such as transportation problem (49.5%) and adverse weather conditions affected participation in the trainings(37,9%). The reason of the application of Lamaze philosophy of health personnel was that midwives were not taking an active role in the birth (84,5%) personnel (72.8%) and material limitation (61.2%) and the fact that Lamaze's philosophy was seen as a luxury at birth (67.8%) stated that they saw such reasons as the inadequacy of physical insufficiency of the hospital(80,6%). The students stated that only the health personnel should take Lamaze philosophy training and application certificate (87.4%) and it was appropriate to give the education at the undergraduate education level (75.7%). The education of Lamaze philosophy was not given in their schools (75.7%), and seen that they all wanted to receive this training (100%). Conclusion: As a result, the best preparation and support of the mother to the birth is important for the self-empowerment of women. As many mothers do not know what to expect in pregnancy, preparation classes for labor complement this gap. This gap is still incomplete in our country and it is important for the education of midwives who should be next to the pregnant woman at every stage of birth. In our study, it was seen that midwifery students had heard Lamaze's philosophy , but their knowledge was insufficient and they believed in various reasons in their professional life. It is recommended to give birth to preparatory education with Lamaze philosophy  in schools and to be added to the course contents
