Abstract :Smartphone addiction is a type of addiction that has started to gain importance among behavioral addictions in recent years and has not yet been diagnostically classified. In this review, it is aimed to bring together the results of studies on the psychological harms of smartphone addiction and to determine what kind of psychological harm smartphone addiction causes. This research was conducted with the systematic review method. The keywords \"smartphone addiction\", \"mobile phone addiction\", \"problematic mobile phone use\", \"excessive mobile phone use\", \"psychological effects\" and \"psychological symptoms\" were searched in databases in July 2023. As a result, it was found that smartphone addiction causes psychopathological symptoms such as depression, anxiety, neuroticism, eating disorder and psychological effects such as stress, aggression, appearance anxiety and loneliness. The findings are discussed within the scope of the relevant literature.
