Abstract :ÖZET Makalemizin konusunu teşkil eden أَراَد “erâde” ve  شاَءَ “şâe” terimlerini yalnızca el-Cevherî’nin es-Sıhâh’ı ile İbn Fâris’in Mu’cemu Mekâyîsi’l-Lüga ’sında geçen anlamları ile sınırladık. Anılan bu iki eser klasik Arapça sözlükler içinde çok önemli yerlere sahiptirler. Kaldı ki bu çalışmamızın Kelam ve İslam Tarihi mezhepleri alanı için de yararlı olacağı kanısındayız. Zira İslam tarihi boyunca özellikle mezheplerin doğuşu ve daha sonraları ortaya çıkan ihtilafların kökeninin erâde ve şâe fiilleri üzerinde de yoğunlaştığını görmekteyiz. Çalışmamızda bu iki terimin Kur’an’daki anlamlarını da bazı örneklerle bir bölüm halinde sunduk. Anahtar Kelimeler: Cevherî, Sıhâh, İbn Fâris, Mekâyîsu’l-Lüga, Erâde-Şâe   Comparative Meanings of the Verbs insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(a-ra-da and sha-a); in the Dictionaries of al-Jawhari and Ibn Fares We have limited the terms أَراَد “erâde” and شاَءَ “şâe ” which has constituted the main topic of our article, solely with the meanings from “Sıhâh” by el-Cevherî and from “Mu’cemu Mekâyîsi’l-Lüga” by İbn Fâris. These two aforenamed works take significant places in standard Arabic dictionaries. Moreover, we are in the opinion of this work to be better in the area of Kalâm and History of İslamic Denominations. Throughout islamic history; we can see that particularly emerging of the islamic denominations, and the origin of the conflicts that have subsequently arised, centre on the verbs “erâde” and “şâe”.  In this article we have presented  the Quranic meanings of these two terms accompanied by various examples.
