Abstract :Şeftali Bahçeleri is one of the most focussed and analysed stories of Refik Halit. This story which is in the book of ‘Memleket Hikâyeleri’ is remarkable because it reflects the author’s view of the Anatolian villages and towns, geography and social conditions of the people of the period. In this story, Karay aimed to give the town life of its period, to tell the intellectual/civil servant relationship by addressing some drawbacks and to portray the period. While aiming these, he also tell the impact of the the geography/space requirements and features on human. “In this study the story of “ eftali bahçeleri” will be analysed in terms of human and space, impact of the space on human, relationship of human-space and contribution of these to the formation of the story. In addition to this, the impact of the space component on human psychology and the position of the human in the story will be focused
